SOMA Leadership 2009-2010

Gain valuable leadership experience by managing one of the fastest growing organizations at Anderson!

Make a difference for SOMA and the Anderson Community!

Process

We are planning to select seven candidates from a pool of applicants.  These seven candidates will form the SOMA board for 2009-2010. We are looking for students who want to be actively involved in shaping the future of SOMA at Anderson. All positions are one-year commitments (including the FEMBA VP role).

As a board member, you will be expected to commit to supporting SOMA at club events. To this end, if selected for a VP role, you should also expect to help plan events outside of your immediate realm of responsibility. An active board is the core of a successful club.

Once all candidates have applied, the 2nd Year SOMA Board will have one week to make decisions regarding applicants.

Next Step for you

  1. Write a candidate statement mentioning what you have done for SOMA and/or Anderson this year and what you will do if you are selected to be a part of the core board. Bullet points are sufficient.
  2. Please indicate 3 positions (in order of preference) that you would be interested in, as well as what you feel you could bring to the positions, and any ideas you have for the position.
  3. If you have already committed to other leadership roles for next year, please briefly explain your plan for managing multiple leadership responsibilities.

Applications should not exceed one page. Please be sure your applications are clearly labeled with your name, if submitted as an attachment. Please apply if you are interested in contributing to SOMA’s success!

Email your statement to soma@anderson.ucla.edu.

Write “APPLICATION FOR SOMA CORE 2009-2010″ in the subject line.

a.. Deadline for all applications - 2/20 (Friday).
b.. Announcement for Final Board and Positions – 2/27 (Friday)

Below are the board positions and their descriptions. If you are interested in a position, but you are not sure what the job entails, please feel free to contact the current VPs (listed next to their role) to discuss the opportunity.

Thank you for a great year,
